The goal of our award winning Healthcare Career Explorers program, in partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, is to create comprehensive, interactive learning opportunities with medical professionals to introduce all students to a wide variety of careers in the healthcare field. We had 22 CentraState staff volunteer to create and facilitate interactive educational sessions for our New Explores this year. This year we welcomed 37 students — 5 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 12 juniors, 15 seniors, & 3 College Students. This year’s topics included: Behavioral Health, Career Prep, chat with Resident Physicians, Health IT, HIPAA, Lab/Pathology, Maternity/Labor & Delivery, Nutrition/Diabetes, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Robotic Surgery, Nursing, Patient Advocacy, chat with a COVID Patient. Over the last 6 years, our staff has touched 524 high school students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. We look forward to hosting our young Explorers for the 2022-2023 school year, where we hope to welcome New & Returning Explorers!
